In this lab, we learned how to make different types of agar. We also learned about the different types of agar how they look and what organisms they are meant to cultivate. The 3 types of agar we made were Simmons Citrate Agar, MaConkey Agar, and Kligler Iron Agar. We then cultured unknown strands of bacteria and used the different agar to find out what they were. In the end, we found out that the strain of bacteria we had cultured was a strain by the name of Citrobacter Ferundi.
