In this lab, we learned the difference between Gram-Negative and Gram-Positive bacteria. We also learned about 3 bacterial stains by the name of  Safranin, Iodine, and Crystal Violet. First, we were told to get bacteria from different places and culture them. Then in teams of 2, we heat fixed the bacteria on a slide and stained them with Crystal Violet, Iodine and then Safranin in that order. When we put the bacteria under a microscope it had either a purple or red pigment. we learned that the Crystal Violet colors the phospholipid bilayers
