In this lab, we were trying to extract DNA from strawberries, kiwis, or dog testicles. We started by using blunt force to destroy the soft tissue and using detergent to break down the phospholipid bilayer. we then used salt to protect the DNA from any damage. after that, the mixture was heated to loosen the histones that hold the DNA. Then it was Doused in Cold ethanol to destroy everything except the DNA.
