In this lab, we learned how to do electrophoresis. We were taught that the phosphate group of the DNA molecule makes it negatively charged. Due to this negative charge, the DNA would go towards the red side of the machine. And depending on how many base pairs long the DNA is it will go further from the well. The smaller the further. We learned how to run the machine and what its potential applications are. we also learned about restriction enzymes and how they work.
